Dolores Fawn

This stunning rug was designed by Rex Ray, the celebrated San Francisco based artist and graphic designer. He is as much acclaimed for his fine art paintings and mixed media collages, as his revolutionary rock and roll tour posters for groups such as The Rolling Stones and U2. Described as intriguingly casual and yet sophisticated in his approach, Rex Ray’s work has become highly collectable and is the inspiration behind a new collection of rugs introduced by Bazaar Velvet.

Each rug is hand knotted in the fine, soft wool by master craftsmen of the traditional weaving area of Jaipur, India and epitomises the concept of art for the floor. When he saw the first design, Folsom, interpreted as an exquisitely crafted 10 x 8 rug, Rex Ray’s comment: “It’s awesome”, succinctly describes his admiration for this art form. He went on to explain: “I’m forever trying new things, experimenting, with new forms and techniques, looking for new media to expand my body of work – seeing my work translated into rugs has been a fascinating experience”.Rex Ray Floor Art. A gorgeous eclectic rug created using fifties inspired shapes and a muted colour palett.
