Although our showroom is currently closed, you can browse our collections on our website. Alternatively, email us with your requirements and we’ll happily suggest some rug options to suit your needs. Purchases can be made by card over the phone, or we can provide you with our bank details to make a transfer,
We are pleased to confirm, that in accordance with the current level of restrictions, we are still able to deliver rugs to our customers. As a small business, we greatly appreciate your business at this difficult time.
Placing Custom Orders
We continue to support our workshops in India and Nepal throughout their time of lock-down. Thankfully the situation there is much less severe than in the UK and Europe, and the weavers expect to return to work soon.
We are still taking customer orders, although our lead times will be slightly longer than usual. Placing your order now will ensure your rug is at the front of the queue when weaving resumes.
It is of paramount importance we ensure our weaving communities in India and Nepal are kept safe and in employment at this time. Rug making is a hugely important industry in these areas, not just financially, but also culturally- and we risk loosing this ancient art-form and the beauty of the handmade carpet forever.
The Rug Industry and Covid-19
At Bazaar Velvet we support the excellent work of charity Goodweave, who are working hard to help weavers at this time. Visit their website and specialist rug publication ‘Cover’ to find out more about how Covid-19 is affecting the rug industry.
