Mid-Century Style arrives at I & JL Brown
The team at I & JL Brown share a philosophy not unlike our own at Bazaar Velvet. They aim to ‘guide customers to the item of furniture they have always wanted but could not find’. We are excited to see their fantastic new ranges, which branch out from their usual traditional aesthetic into mid-century style.
About I&JL Brown
The I & JL Brown London showroom, only a short step away from us on the Kings Road Chelsea, is a treasure trove of English and French furnishings, antiques and home wear. It also showcases many of our gorgeous designer rugs, regularly selected in collaboration between to the two companies, to complement their beautiful products. We are proud to be associated with such a respected family business and to be featured in their latest photoshoot of stunning English made furniture.
Over their 30 years in business, I & JL Brown have established several Herefordshire workshops where their furniture is skilfully built and finished by hand. Much like Bazaar Velvet, they value traditional craftsmanship and premium natural materials. They use only the finest class of timbers, bringing a superior quality to every piece.
Many items are made to order after a thorough bespoke design process. Furniture is made to suite a wide range of interior styles; staining, painting and distressing items to fit client’s needs. Through our relationship with the team at I & JL Brown, we cannot question their commitment and pride in the level of customer service they provide.
The Move to Mid-Century Style
During the past year, the I & JL Brown aesthetic has evolved to include items inspired by mid-century style. Our good friend David Wilder, Head Designer turned London Store Manager, has been at the forefront of the change, and we have been delighted to provide our designer rugs to be displayed alongside his fabulous new Wimbledon Collection. We are great admirers of his works, combining clean lines with original configurations to create stylish, unique pieces.
