Afghan Moon Rugs
Discover our exclusive “Afghan Moon” collection, a partnership helping the women weavers of Afghanistan re-enter the workplace. Traditional Afghan cultural practices, as well as more recent restrictions affecting women’s ability to travel, study and work, have meant that many women have taken up the art of carpet weaving in their homes. Designs take on an organic form where nothing repeats or has any symmetry, inspiration comes from a nod to the Bauhaus movement in the early 1900’s however these designs are much less structured. Each piece is STEP labelled, a wonderful charity organisation improving the wellbeing of weavers and workers and promoting Fair Trade Standards.
