Vintage Patchwork Rugs

Vintage Anatolian Patchwork rugs from classical oriental carpets given a contemporary twist.

These exciting vintage patchwork rugs are created from traditional  Anatolian rugs from various rug producing villages around Turkey.

The original rugs are all sent to the south of Turkey and left in the sun for several months to soften the colours, they are then sometimes left as a faded original or dyed into various shades, then cut into different sized pieces in preparation for the transformation.

The creation of these  rugs demands a very careful selection & organization of the shapes and colours to achieve a balanced & articulate look.
Once this is obtained, they are carefully blanket stitched, thus creating a completely new contemporary twist on a traditional design but still with character and soul.
